During the last year the NICU has had a focus on management of extreme preterm babies, the last months the NICU team has stepped up and has performed surfactant therapy by using the LISA-technique (Less Invasive Surfactant Administration) on 3 preterm babies with RDS (Respiratory Distress Syndrome). All 3 babies did well during the procedure and improved after the therapy.
